Advocates to End Domestic Violence

October
Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic Violence Awareness MonthTo honor victims of domestic violence and increase awareness of this damaging family secret, one of-a-kind, handcrafted artisan purple ribbons are available for a limited time at several shops around town including our office, Sugar Pine Cove and Home Treasures. These beautiful ribbons were handcrafted by Lisa Lee, the Executive Director, and are on sale for $10 each with all proceeds going toward helping victims and their children here in our community.
Wear your ribbon with pride and know that you are helping end domestic violence.

Capital Awareness

The staff will be out tieing large Purple Ribbons on the fence in front of the Capital grounds the first week in October. The purple ribbons will be viewed by everyone traveling Carson Street and send a powerful message that there is no place in our homes or community for domestic violence.

The Victims Court Advocates will have wooden silhouettes on display on each floor of the court house between October 15 & 19. The silhouettes depict a human form and within the bodice of each is a story of how their lives were taken by a domestic violence incident. Stop by an take a moment to remember those we work to help.
